A mechas [older woman] at the old-age center told me that this was composed by Skilang Mitsungi (from Melekeok). Two other songs attributed to Skilang Mitsungi were composed in the 1930s, so it is possible that this song also is from that era. Our version is influenced by a 1960s recording by Augustina Mechol.
